What sponsors behaviour?
Since I returned home from Sebring, events on the other side of the world have taken precedence in my mind.
As we draw ourselves into another war, I can't help but feel that, for thousands of years, man has been at war with his fellow man. You would think that we would have learnt that wars are a short-term solution, not a long-term one. What is it that makes this situation never go away?
If you look at the behaviour of human beings over the centuries, nothing has changed. What sponsors behaviour? Beliefs do. So then, our beliefs as a human race must not be working - the belief that we are different to each other, the belief that we are better than each other, the belief we are superior to an other. Also, that one god is any greater than another.
Don't forget God's will as well. I believe that it is time for a new understanding of who we are in relation to each other and God. A lot of people are taught that we are separate from God and that God has wants and needs. We are also told that we are sinners before we even have a chance to get going.
All the needs and wants and requirements in our reality are all not real - they are just illusions. It is the state of mind with which you want to think about a particular subject. It is like you need a new TV, car or something else, and the illusion is that without it, you won't be happy until you get it. Then, you get it and you feel happy and different, so the illusion has changed in your reality.
However, after a year or so, you change your view on it and you heard that there is a better one out there, and so the cycle begins and never ends. This happen every second of the day, and all that is happening is that we start to believe that it is all real. These illusions are created so that we can have all the feelings and emotions in our world at any given moment. What we don't realise is that that is an illusion which we believe is real.
In the war, we have one side believing that its way is a better way of life than the other, instead of one way of life being 'another way' of doing life. There is the belief that one god is better and grander than any other, and that that god will determine the outcome. However, we, as humans, have free will. We can think about things in so many ways that you can see that we have a great chance of not getting on. If we all believe that we are all one with each other and that we are all part of life - meaning that we are made of the same stuff - then maybe things may be different on this planet. Or, perhaps, if we believe that we are God in human form, so God is not separate from us.
In order for us to know who we are, there has to be something that is not - just as we wouldn't know what white is if we didn't have black; we wouldn't know up unless we had down; left/right; in/out; night/day; fat/skinny; good/bad...... You see, there is an opposite to everything in life, so that we can understand what something is. Ask yourself a question - who am I? And what am I in relation to? This helps to understand who we are.
So, for God to understand who God is, something had to be created so that God could understand who God is. So the perfect plan was made - life. If everything is perfect, then we wouldn't know what perfect was. Think about the Adam and Eve story.... Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden - or perfection - then Eve took from the fruit of evil. This story is there to help us understand the make-up of life. For perfection to know perfection, it needs something that is opposite, or not perfection. Everything is a gift in our lives.
At the end of the day, we, as humans, have to look at what works and what doesn't. Forget about the wrath of God, and fear associated with God. God is Life and so are we. We need to look at our beliefs, so our behaviour towards each other will change. Then we can have heaven on Earth instead of the hell we have created....
